Radcliffe Community Folks and Facts Illustrated

Radcliffe Community Folks and Facts Illustrated includes folks that lived in Radcliffe, Sherman and Garden City. It also included farm families that lived in Lincoln Township in Hamilton County, Concord Township in Hardin County and Sherman Township in Hardin County. These farm families shopped in these towns and later retired to the same communities. As my Great-Aunt Ella Britson Hinderaker said, "We could get most anything that we needed in Radcliffe. In fact, We could probably purchase more in Radcliffe when I was a girl then they can now." (Now being 1975)

For those who are not familiar with this book, it should be noted that it is remarkable. Whoever conceived of the idea of the biographical sketches was inspired. There was an attempt to contact anyone who had ever lived in the area. Many people responded. Families not only narrated their lives, but also the lives of their parents and grandparents. I am very grateful to those families. That information became the starting point in a search for their Norwegian origins.
